Originally known as Lamb Assembly & Test, the company was formed in 1990 when Lamb Technicon acquired the intellectual property of Rockford Automation. Rockford Automation was born in 1965 and became a world leader in the design and manufacture of custom assembly & test automation solutions for the powertrain, automotive, commercial and appliance industries. Recognizing Rockford Automation’s leadership role in the industry, Lamb Technicon coupled the acquired intellectual property with the skilled technical talent that was the original company.
Operating as Lamb Assembly & Test, the company specialized in providing solutions to the bustling automotive sector. Working with sister company, Lamb Technicon, Lamb Assembly & Test effectively served a very competitive automotive manufacturing environment to further elevate the company’s reputation.
Just recently, the company announced aggressive plans to further penetrate non-automotive markets. With a broad experience base and added resources, the company has changed it’s name to reflect the new mission.
In 2005, Cincinnati Automation & Test was purchased by MAG Industrial Automation Systems. The leading manufacturing solutions companies that make up MAG together rank in the top five of global machine tool builders. Other MAG companies include Cincinnati Machine, CrossHüller Ex-Cello Lamb, Fadal Machining Centers, Giddings & Lewis Machine Tools, Hessapp, Hüller Hille, Maintenance Technologies and Witzig & Frank.
